Tomentose Pummelo Peel (Exocarpium Citri Grandis Tomentosi) is a specialty of Huazhou City, Maoming City, Guangdong Province, and a product protected by China's National Geographical Indication. It is the dried outer pericarp of the unripe or nearly ripe fruit of Citrus grandis 'Tomentosa', a tree species belonging to the Rutaceae family and Citrus genus. The fruit of Tomentose Pummelo is covered with soft hairs, and its pericarp is thicker than that of other varieties of pomelo. The pulp is pale yellowish-white, with a sour and bitter taste, making it unsuitable for raw consumption. The pericarp of this citrus fruit is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb, particularly renowned for its quality when produced in Huazhou, hence the name "Huazhou Tomentose Pummelo Peel." Tomentose Pummelo Peel is also one of the "Ten Famous Guangdong Medicinal Herbs," recognized as a genuine regional medicinal material in Guangdong Province.
